There is no safety without encryption of your files and folders, it’s all important for you those document you have created that and you wanted to keep in a safe place. Microsoft offering a very simple tool which is named in short form EFS (Encrypted File Service) that saves each and every files and folder encrypted on your hard drive. While if you are looking the built-in feature it comes to you indirectly on his way. Take relax, you have to go a few steps, and make sure you files are an insecure place. But at the same time, if you don’t want to see anyone those encrypted files and folders, you have to follow a few steps.
On Windows, if you have saved any files the lock icon will be displayed if your files and folders are in private, so the user needs a special permission to access those files.
To remove the lock icon,
1. Win + R and type regedit and Enter.
Once the Registry Editor open:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Icons
Above you follow the cone, you will be missed out Shell Icons key that will not exist. You have to generate manually.
1. File Explorer
2. Right click on Explorer
3. New–>Key and add Shell Icons.
Once you have done, Now give a right click on ”Shell Icons” and find New–>String Value–> add 178 in the name.
And you have to set a Value Data empty and OK. On the Name, the blank .ico file will be added. Now, you can able to remove the Lock Icon, edit on string Value 178 and set .ico file that you want to setup. In future, if you change your mind then go back to same way remove the Value name of 178.
